About Rast Educational Company
The company is a branch of the Rast Group of Companies Ltd. It was established in 2014 with the aim of improving and developing education in Iraq in general and the Kurdistan Region in particular. The company’s headquarters are located within the New Zakho Complex / Zakho District / Duhok Governorate / Kurdistan Region-Iraq. The company started its business with the opening of the first international school (British International School – Zakho), including the three primary stages: kindergarten, elementary and middle school from the age of 3 to 18 years. In 2015 the British School / Duhok branch was opened with the same specifications. Despite the difficult economic and political conditions that the country was going through because of the war, the company has succeeded in attracting qualified and efficient international educational cadres from more than 15 different countries. In addition, the company recruited local cadres after training them in order to meet the requirements for collecting accreditation for international schools, and the company succeeded in developing in this area. Note that the company now has a qualified cadre of holders of postgraduate degrees, bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate. Rast Education Company also succeeded in concluding important agreements with several educational institutions, such as the Cambridge Accreditation, and the opening of an IELTS test center in Dohuk Governorate, in agreement with the British Consulate in Erbil, and the American International Examination Center (AIAA). And in 2019, the company expanded its educational activity by opening the Rast Private School and the Rast Private Institute in Zakho.
